Humorous Holiday Poem
It's such a shame
The Christmas Tree
Now toppled to the floor!

The lights, the star
The ornaments
Shattered by the score

On Christmas morn
A tragedy
It shakes my very soul

Although I fear
I must admit
I may have played a role

You see my favorite
Christmas guy's
An ornery holiday stooge

In fact I might
As well own up
It's Ebenezer Scrooge

So to the malls
I did not go
No online shopping spree

I kept the money
In the bank
There's interest there, you see

On Christmas Eve
I trashed the house
I turned things upside down

And to make
My coup de grace
The tree went to the ground

And when the kids
Came down the steps
I let out with a sob

"Oh dear, oh my
The gifts are gone
I think we've just been robbed!"

I must admit
I felt a twinge
Yes remorse, it's a fact

Perhaps next year
Three ghosts will come
And straighten out my act!
