A light flickers in the dark, could it be hope?
I sit here pained to the point of exhaustion
Numbed to the point of death
The only reason I'm alive is because of the small glimmer of light
The faintest breeze of hope that taunts me
Flickering in front of my face it glides away when I reach for it
Making me move forward
If I try to sit and rest my weary head
It comes back, brighter this time
As if scolding me for considering giving up
So I continue this long journey
I get up and follow the light
And smile when it scolds me
