Black and white.
Black and White

A world full of color,
rainbows of different shades,
plastered on walls.
Two stand out the most,
they're seen as empty spaces;
black and white.

A girl and a boy
with a forbidden love,
his love's parents would never accept.
Religion and race,
seems to matter the most.
Both bleed red,
and shed tears for the other,
It's an unacceptable couple;
black and white.

Word vomit on a page,
rows of headers,
one labeled "Obituaries",
another "Sports In Our Area",
with pictures to follow the scenes,
and they're forever printed in,
black and white.

Men in suits, with real badges,
claiming to do their job.
Sirens cry out, and another man dead.
Said he couldn't breathe,
you ignored his pleas of air,
a fish out of water,
gasping for a breath,
Yet, there's a difference;
black and white.

A sad world spins,
and topples with sorrow,
swallowed by hatred,
while one "empty" color,
feels threatened,
people believe one's better than the other;
black and white.
