A poem about enjoying those quiet moments when you can be alone with your thoughts.
Wrapped up
in the warmth
of the velvet night,
I breathe
sweet silence.

My mind is free
to wonder––
to tiptoe on the moon.
My heart is free
to ponder––
a dreamers gentle tune.

Before too long
I’ll hear the drum
and dance
another day.

But I’ll remember
the velvet night
When dreams
are free to play
