dedicated to the deceased
Hidden among colorful wreathes
Shielded from pain by leafy green
A plaque which says what it may
A tear somewhere that soon turns gray

Encased in silver, covered in white
And peppered in peach, a saddening sight
The tears which flow, I always knew
Nothing to say for none is true

What happened then, four months ago,
She came to us along with snow
A blanket of white covered the ground
And we were there as many abound

But oh the pain that soon would come
Her death so sudden it made us numb
What can we do when she is lost
But continue on, ignore the cost

Yet, for a second, we recognize
The pain we feel that’s inside
I’ll miss you dearly Grandmother
And relinquish you to another
