The moon was clear but there was a dim little star beside the moon that gave me an idea
Night

Sometimes I stare at the moon and wonder if anyone else is looking at it too.
Are they in a different country?
Is it a man or a woman or a child?
Sometimes I think it could be my soul mate, and then I realize that they don't exist, at least not for me.
Whoever is looking at that big, bright, beautiful sight in the blackened sky, do they see a star nearby that looks dim?
One that doesn't belong, but stands out so completely?
I like to think that star is me.
Others would believe that star is them too.
Compared to the silver moon, we're just a tiny star that doesn't shine so bright.
Maybe the star has only begun its journey,
Maybe it's already burned out and only has a little time left.
Whatever the reason, it doesn't shine so bright tonight.
Most nights.
Why are we given life if that is all we are, a small twinkle next to a glamorous sight?
Should we be the prettier sight?
Don't we deserve to stand out?
I want to stand out.
I want to be the brighter view.
Don't you?
If there's a secret to succeeding, I would love to know.
If there's a secret to living, is it too precious for some to know?
Everyone deserves to be the big, bright moon in someone else's eyes.
It doesn't matter whose.
Choose to be bright,
Choose to be small,
Just don't forget that
You gotta see em all
