Noise
Sounds
Inferences
All around
Nothing
Seems real
Blackness
So surreal
The world above
Went sliding down
The pressure
Now by the pound
Squeezing life
Crushing any doubt
I just won’t survive
Nope
Not for long
Under my feet
Earth broke free
Downward
It and I screamed
Tumbling towards
An obligatory happenstance
God should have forbid
But rather there is this
A condition of our existence
A chance we take breathing
I’m sure
Quite certain
No one heard me
No one knows
That I’m here
Within this crux
Again I find myself
Very much alone
Maybe others
Were close
Maybe some
Are as I am now
Here
Alive
Alone
Beneath a landslide
This pocket
Of resistance
Is allowing me
A shorter chance
At forgiveness
Nonetheless
Death will be coming
To God I’ll be praying
His divine wisdom
Has served me none
His outright arrogance
Has become the source
Of my indifference
But
In a finite time like this
It’s amazing how quick
I have forgotten
All that has kept me away
Certainty has forced
Both him and I
Sooner than preferred
I will be knowing
The answers
To all that I am
Or have ever asked
I will face it headlong
No avoidance
No distraction
Nothing encumbering
Brutal honesty
Veiled in tragedy
Here
Beneath a landslide
Such reconciliation
I’ll face with ease
Thus
The incurable disease
Of all human beings
The ground
That we stand upon
Can easily give way
Forcing the hand of fate
Leaving us in a perilous state
Where what once held us back
Forces us to make peace…
