I'm tired and looking for inner strength, a light at the end of the tunnel...
Lone Peak

Just once,
Let the shadows point my light's path
To the lone peak that must exist above
That flat, dark tundra that is my life.

A place I can safely feel small and mortal.
With weaknesses not judged.
And confident
I am part of something much larger,
Something eternal.

Where stars reach down to me,
And lift me up,
And I float free of restraints and ailments,
My spirit rising, soaring among celestial spheres.

There, amongst the great clockwork,
May I experience the feel
Of the celestial winds on my face,
And floating in their warmth,
Temporarily melt into the ether.

Could I have that be but just once?

It feels a simple wish
From a complex world of pain.
I try to understand
What it means to be “only human”.

Yet, I am stuck at a great crossroad,
In the cycle of life and death,
Blood flows from wounds within my heart.
