A poem a wrote for class addressing domestic abuse.
Again
By Arianna Crescent

She looks down at the dog on the ground.
Whimpering, whining, and begging for a chance, again.
She takes the dog in saying yes, again.
I watch from my window, again.
She sees only the sad puppy dog
Not behind its eyes
The snarling, growling, threatening
Our lives, again.
Drooling from its stained teeth, again.
And she covers the bites and bruises, again.
The dog whimpers with remorse, again.
And she forgives it.
Again.
