The hypocrisy of mankind.

The fireplace is all lit and bright
The crowd just dwindles by,
I see nothing in the joys of life,
Not in the colours of spring
My eyes are young, but they have seen enough
The memories are naught but sentinels of grief
And now i just watch unamused
At the japes of these men: both lesser and chief
Whatever the men and lores may say,
About honor, family and blood
But this is what my eyes have seen
And so I'll tell you, as I must.
We have indeed as a species and race,
Rotten away to the core,
We look down at the Gods and spit in their face
For laying their faith in us.
For love is not what it was once
In the blackened hearts out there
They laugh and jeer the innocent ones
The ones who all burden do bear
I have seen the love of the purest kind
The sacredness of which, is told
Lives on and on for evermore
Even when the heart beats no more
The love of a mother for her flesh and bone
The one she gives her life
I've seen it die for her interests alone
The children by her greed outshined
I have seen the love of a child
For his patents turn to dust
And the toddler once and now a man
Beats his mother if he must.
Not the sweat of his father's brow,
Nor the tear in his mother's eye
Can ever get the man to bow
To the parents' love's might.
I have seen a son hold his mother's throat
And the daughter slap her hard.
Love is naught but an empty fort.
It exists only in the tunes of the bards
I have seen the father weep for his son
His death has him destroyed
And the others laugh and smile at his pain
And the son who slipped into the void.
The sibblings care not for his death
His farewell by their presence unmarked
Though if they can gain out of the mother's loss
In the light they'd weep, but laugh in the dark.
The childhood games and frolics
All lost and forgotten now
The bonds of brotherhood all broken
The blood now keeps no wows.
I have seen the promises of eternal friendship
Fade into the abysmal dark
'Coz words are naught but melodies
Die they must, as the songs of lark.
I have seen the oaths of love so true
Die in the blink of an eye
It promises to create a magic great
But alas! It is a lie
For magic it creates 'tis true
But once the spell is cast
When you wake up from the blissful dream
Its the curse that stikes so fast.
It gives you pain like none before
That you cannot even cry
The breathing becomes like poison
Because it makesyou stay alive
Death seems like an old friend then
You'd welcome him right in
But naught he comes though you wait for him
And you dwindle in this world of sin.
The concepts of blood, honor and love
Have faded away from sight.
We scavenge our living from the dark remains
Of a world once full of light.
What we are, what have we become?
Animals, i conclude.
But then on second thoughts i think
We are worse, I construe
We have left humanity behind
We live in times of lies and deciept
Jeering and abusing, their souls we grind
Till the innocent join their creed
But forget naught, oh my innocent ones,
The lord still looks down
Though we think not that we have to answer to him
He will chastened every soul for his foul.
Its never that no one is looking
He always looks down
Compassion is the greatest gift he gave
Which most of us never found
So to the innocent souls here
To them i give advice
Do not go become like them
Filled with venom and malice
Fot nothing good ever comes to those
Who dwell in the darkness deep
Ride like masters of the sunlit world
And love in your heart do keep.
No matter for the thorns in your way
They will prick you and you'll bleed
But trudge and crawl till that beautiful day
You find happiness you can keep.
So keep heart, oh my brave soldier
You never are alone.
Look up to the skies and Him you shall see
And you'll never need to mourn.
The tears in your eyes are your greatest gift
It means you're human enough
To help the ones who have lost all hope
To smile when the road gets rough.
