-Oceans Bleed The Sky-

Distance
A prison
Proximity
God’s detention
Between
Beings living
Swimming
Unable to stand
There is no land
Treading water
Below
Is the deep darkness
Above is a storm
Of increasing madness
Their skin
Waterlogged
Their minds
Saturated
Their souls
Because of weight
Less and less
Do they float
Just at their chin
The water settles in
Every once in awhile
A wave comes along
Crashing over their heads
Giving them but a taste
Of their ultimate doom
Just below the surface
Predators circle
Looking for a free meal
Too lazy to hunt
They are content
With the long wait
Below them
Much bigger predators
Swim consistent circles
Knowing that it time
All those above who feed
Will indeed become prey
Down past them
Infernal nothingness
If one was to sink
If one was to escape
The boundaries of existing
In that swirling abyss
They would forever exist
No one, nothing
Could ever save them
Such a place is no heaven
But the truest of hells
Above the surface
Beyond the waves
Past the madness
Way beyond where
Oceans bleed the sky
Is a kingdom so defined
Spelled out clear and precise
God’s holiest of words
Before our very eyes
Those so fortunate to survive
May in time make it there
May stand in the presence
Of the grandest master
Some will say nothing
Of their terrible plight
But some will dare ask
God of the sky
Oh why?
Will he answer
Or will he be offended
At the idea of the question
Will he accept them as his
Or will he change his mind
Tying a stone around their necks
Throwing them from his grip
Back down, past the waves
SPLASH!
Beyond such terrible creatures
Into an unforgiving abyss
Where truly nothing is kept…
