Hiding from humanity will not protect you
The deepest desire of mans heart
is to live into eternity.
For when one is so poisoned by sin,
Earth is the only heaven they have left.
And I once dreamed of such freedom,
as to watch generations crumble before me,
yet the price of immortality,
be much greater than I could comprehend.

I sought out new life by destroying my body,
and a new sprout was born from my blood.
I grew high above earthly humanity,
and my roots burrowed deep into the rot.
But the decay of my past life sustained me,
and by my souls own venom I twisted down.

My vines so close to light died slow,
and my trunk collapsed upon my ghost.
One would think the destruction of my outer shell,
would render me dead.
Yet life eternal is a curse never ending.
Where as hell is a kinder sentence.

So I live in the stump of my own creation,
crushed by the death of my heart.
The agony forever more burns me,
and the raindrops never put it out.
