DIG

"Dig," he said, and dig I did. I dug so far, I found treasure. Professor Rand was amazed that one of his archeology students had outshone him. Kai was disdainful of my teacher.
"You were smart enough to find me. You don't need him. He's a terrible instructor."
Kai kissed me again. I tasted once more the strange taste, and wondered what it was.
"Come back with me, and you can rule beside me."
The strips of cloth had been burned. I knew Rand would be incensed. The golden objects had been secreted, as well.
"Is it true, about the Nile?" I asked, as we stepped through the crack in the wall. I gasped as I saw the papyrus boat docked there at the river's edge. Kai gave me a momentary glance of sadness, before choking me with his hands. The last thing I heard was him saying,
"You are a dirt digger. You would never be acceptable as a pharaoh's wife."
