A harsh reality
Love, and then what?
What comes after?
Eternity doesn't permit happiness
Just a fond memory
That you cling to, when he's gone

The butterflies are set free, out of their cage
And now it's just your empty stomach
It's only human to be hungry now
The stars in your eyes
They're just a reflection now, of where they've always been

He used to be all you could see
But then you got glasses.
At each touch, you were weak at the knees.
Your doctor told you yesterday that you're just getting old.
