America, a land of the free, no more.
When did I not see it, when did it not come?
Was I underground, hiding my head?
Did I hope that the bombs would stop!

Was it from when I emerged, I saw,

A young blond haired girl and an a small abandoned dog
amongst the rabble that I noticed:

The Statue of Liberty standing tall.
