A part of my poetry on having multiple sclerosis; specifically, the past just faded memory

With an icicle for a minute hand

A wedding certificate housed with a degree in blocks of ice

My frozen past makes me shiver at the hint of memory

I live in this moment...That I may, and likely will, forget

Oh, so cold!

And when, and if, I remember
I may, and likely will, shed a tear
That would make a nice plump second hand if it, too, freezes

Shiver until I shudder

Sometimes, though, I ride the cold clock’s pendulum...

Weeeeee!!! I say because I am afraid of falling

Weeeee!!! I say to prevent myself from screaming

Weeee!!!! I say because it is fun if I enjoy the halt in between

Weee! When I get to haunt myself

Wee! C’mon, BOO, already

We! You and I get to really know what it’s like to be a Ghost
FROZEN in time
