An ode to morning...notice it doesn't say "Good"
It' a fog;
haze;
a lack
of acknowledgement
to the day that is before me.

Sleep ht would not come -
Peace I could not find that causes
the fog
to creep,
blanket,
encase
my brain.

Reflexes are slow
Moments slurred.
I file in - cattle at the ready -
moving through the chutes;
ready for slaughter.

Minutes tick by
Sparking a vague interest in
what my body is doing
on auto pilot.

Deep breath. Increase O X Y G E N.
