living in a dream
Sitting watching the stars as they shine over head
a stark contrast to the midnight sky.
Blackness somehow defined by nature’s
mysterious songs echoing louder as the night grows.

Alone in the night, not a single soul will console.
In a single moment, dreams suspend reality, and then they
flip from light to dark,
as reality walks into the dream.

Faces fade away darken and become ghosts.
Nothing is left.

Memories are all that remain,
for the solitary mind to recall.

Though the world has become tame,
and things abound,
there is no one there
to share at all within a Dream.

Give up a dream or remain alone?
The choice is not fair.

Wake to a world that is
cold and sterile,
formal and unfair.

The only redeeming feature
to the world at all
is another with which to share it all.

The Mare laughs as she trots into the dream,
as she knows no one is there
Save for the dreamer
laying under the stars.
