A brief poem when a writer is on a quest to find that inspiration they need.

Oh, Inspiration, why do you elude me?

Why do you run, why do you hide?

You peek out from around the corners of my imagination and mind

Watching and waiting for me to follow you

Never able to catch up with you, I sadden and cry.

You disappear as quickly as you make yourself known

Why do you continue to hurt me so?

Your absence causes me much sadness and grief

For if you would only come back to me,

My words would again have a home.

I have so much to tell you, so much to say

But you become disinterested, and take it all away.

Inspiration, do you not understand I am your friend, not foe?

Please come back to me, please don't go.
