When breaking down is the only thing you can do.
Break

Breaking down in a parking lot
in a shopping mall
is not the same as breaking down
enclosed in the four walls you call home

breaking down in a cardboard box when a woman hands you a burger
when she hands you 10 dollars and says
don’t spend it on drugs first
instead you spend it on a cheap pair of shoes
to carry you through

breaking down in a parking lot
is not the same
as breaking down at home
they can see the hysteria in your eyes
the madness unearthing itself
like a mentally corrupt volcano
your screams go do not go unheard for miles and miles
but instead are caught by every ear

some ignore
some approach
some look at you like your the gum on their shoe
some hold you
some leave you
they all leave an impact too great to ignore
some leave you crying on the floor

but most of all
breaking down in a parking lot
in a shopping mall
in a cardboard box
in a restroom stall
relieves you of your dignity
now everyone knows
what a mess you truly are

break
