A nice little story I decided to write. Filled with my "Enlightenment Revival" ideas
A sting on my hands, as they are shackled behind my back,
for this state of trouble is something for which, I have a knack.
They charge of treason, a charge that I won't deny,
For I took a position because my fellow people's cries.

A soldier to my left, and one to my fight!
Hoping to lead me out in the broad daylight,
They didn't try me, and they took away my rights,
All because of this battle that I longed to fight.

I see the clouds disappear, and the sun brightly shines,
If only the rays could come and unshackle these binds.
I look up and I see those bastards lie in wait,
waiting to see my terrible fate.

A long brutal walk it is, to the center of the crowd,
within it, many people decide to cry aloud.
I hear the shouts of the people, many of which feel ashamed,
realizing the parts they played in this terrible game.

These bastards they supported, many of whom would give their life,
they would explain their excitement to see me die by the knife.
However many oppose this, and show the bastards their hate,
yet for them, their demise will come at another date.

"GAH!" I scream! As I am thrown to the ground,
"Get up you peasant!" they shout, as I start to roll around.
My legs are weak, and my arms are tired, for the beatings they gave got harder and harder,
I start to believe that I deserve my punishment as I am the rebel charger.

The people shout more, and hurl insults and sand!
The sadness being, that they can never understand.
How can they though? When they are controlled by a single man.
A man with whom his cabinet, always flex that brutal hand.

I finally make it to the center, where I can study the device,
a contraption filled with malice, and is to used to fill the bastards' vice.
The machine has a long blade, held at the top,
the blade will soon fall, when that lever is dropped.

I look upon the crowd, and see my family in fear.
at this moment I wish, I could disappear.
I see my mother break down, but my father not so much,
for he is of the bastards, and always enjoyed being the king's crutch.

I cursed him under my breath, which I only wished he could hear,
but my for my words he is deaf, and would need a speaker like a blind man needs a seer.
"State your last words!" I hear the 'tough guy' say,
I looked him in the eye, spit and said, "Get out of my way!"

They throw me in the machine roughly, and there my head rests,
as the man states my crimes, and reasons for my arrests.
I look up at the sky, and see an eagle abound!
That moment I felt that there would be another day where I could walk around.

I closed my eyes and winced, as I heard the lever seized,
never in my life would I think, that I'd be killed with this much ease.
Soon there was a thud! and I thought it was my head,
however it wasn't me, that wound up being dead.

I felt a hard pull, and I realized I was upright,
a bunch of rebels came to my rescue and decided to finish the fight.
They cut my bonds, and I was free to many of the crowd's dismay,
I couldn't help but smile as I realized that I would fight another day.
