Free Verse poem. "Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us."
Once
I made
a big mistake.
I changed
my mind
much too late
to save the day.
Now I balance
all my steps
upon a wire
stretched from oasis
to the end,
correcting
just enough
to keep from falling.
So when
the morning melts
into the here
and now
and you see me
beside the road
with every question
unanswered,
you're forgiven
for passing by
as I stand here
alone.
