Poem for Writer's Cramp
ABRAHAM

Abraham was
A man of Ur
Till God told him
To leave his home

"I will provide
A land to have
Blessed all the earth
Will be through you"

But Abraham
Was without son
How would his offspring
Grow and thrive

God's angels came
To Abraham said
"Though you are old
A son will come"

And so it passed
Isaac was born
The first of many
Hebrew sons

Their journey was
Both long and hard
First Egypt's friends
Then Egypt's slaves

God kept His word
And led them to
The promised land
And so it came

That all the earth
Was blessed through him
Through Abraham
God's blessing spread

Now in all places
And all lands
This cry goes out
To God above

"Give us this day
All that You showed me
The Power and the Glory
'Till Thy Kingdom comes."
