A simple walk with deeper thoughts.
Neon signs dances like pretty ladies in a line
The lights almost keeping time
A slight buzz and I wonder is it from the alcoves or from my mind
An old
blues man plays a harmonic down some back way
Like clay in his hands it reshapes with each key
I pass a women who puts out a cup “Can you pray”
I kneel down and whisper a song, “Let it be”
It seems enough to bring a smile, and I cast in my last dime
The pavement keeps time with the popping falling stop sign
I know this place
Live in its grace
I am use to its taste
Still how much do I ignore from pure prospective
How much of truth have I neglected?
Deep down I hear the call
Something beyond these city walls
