Frustrated but faithful christian
Every night I pray
I lay alone in the darkness and pray
I pray to be healed of my pain
I pray to be freed from my past
I pray to be ridden of my misery
But I never am
I pray loudly and faithfully
And am answered by a silent God

While I openly express my faith in God
I am ignored
I ask God to take away my trials
And he puts more upon me
I ask God to relieve my pain
And I am left to languish
I ask God for love
And he leaves me all alone
I ask God to bring me a partner
Instead, he allows my heart to be shattered

I am a frustrated christian
Yet I am a faithful christian
I am due for a miracle
And God is always on time

An arrow must be pulled back before shooting forward
The night must get darkest before morning
The valley must get to it's deepest before the mountain
And I must be knocked lower than I've ever been before I can stand the tallest I will ever stand

Every night I pray
I lay in the darkness, not alone, but with God, and pray
I pray to be healed of my pain
I pray to be freed from my past
I pray to be ridden of my misery
And I will be soon
I pray loudly and faithfully
And am answered by a silent, but busy God
