I hope some of my co-workers feel this way - sure seems like they do - a poem.
Often, we lack the spirit
And sheer spontaneity
Which others force upon us
Or wish we had.

So, to counter this unbearable intrusion,
We adhere to our obligations
And give a polite and rather jovial response -
Adding that somewhat muted
And less impatient tone
To the illegitimately perceived -
And highly undesirable - conversation...

This being that angelic act of kindness
Towards our fellow human beings
Which is all we can muster...

But normally, the ordeal passes
And we get to resume our emotional
And now chastened lives as before;

A day of lathered up and mixed up chemistry -

As well as biased bickering
Over unenviable tasks -

Which has us begging for relief
In a luxurious hot tub or some exotic locale

Away from temper tantrums
And the same-old, same-old...
