A poem about life getting in the way.
It’s confusing how it didn’t happen anymore
Emotions were no longer as important
As mindlessly sweeping the floor.

Dishes must be clean
Along with words
To accommodate a life unseen.

Clock in, clock out
No one cares what is brewing in your mind
Tediousness is nothing to talk about.

Earn, buy, consume
Waste time to waste money
No need for purpose, I assume.

Kiss the little ones good-night
Convey consistency not originality
Imagination ignites fright.

Eventually the only sentences to create
Are meaningless social graces
Sealing my ordinary visionless fate.
