He was my idol.

24

Ever since I could remember Kobe Bryant had been my hero and idol. I dreamt of watching him play. I wanted to do everything that he could do. He was like my superman. When I was in the seventh grade I had written a poem about him, it went like this.

Kobe Bryant

Is less than a giant.

Once scored 81 points in one game

And now he has a lot of fame.

Kobe always had been my favorite Lakers player. He is a very talented basketball player and on February 21, 2016, my dream came true. I got to watch him play in Chicago. They might have lost but it was still a win for me. I never wanted anything more in my life than to watch him play in person. Sure I watched him play on television but nothing compared to the atmosphere in his final game in Chicago.

I traveled eight hours to watch my hero play and if I could I would have traveled everywhere to watch him play again. Though he is retiring at the end of this season he will always be my favorite basketball player. He has brought so much energy and talent to the NBA and younger players look up to him, I know that I do. He isn't just a basketball player, he is an inspiration to many, including myself.
