I wrote this.
Is blood still thicker than water,
when love lives like a hemophiliac
in a house full of broken glass,
or when lies hemorrhaged
through swollen lips sound more like
aneurysms than apologies?

Is water still thinner than blood,
when it hasn't stopped raining for weeks,
or when you're an eroding island,
and every salt sodden wave
licking your coastline
changes your shape entirely?

Show me how to measure the thickness of blood
when it's running down my legs,
and teach me how to calculate the viscosity of water
when I'm drowning in it.
