This is about how fast time passes and my daughter growing and learning
From bottles to beakers,
From booties to shoes.
You've learnt so much,
From don'ts to do's.

You used to sleep all day,
And cry all night.
Now you sleep in the darkness,
And rise with the light.

From your moses basket to your crib,
From your cot to your bed.
You now have a pillow,
To rest your sweet head.

From crawling to walking,
And falling with a bam.
You now run around,
With your doll and your pram.

From silly sounds,
To perfect words.
From shoes and socks,
To cats and birds.

You say your name,
And my name too.
No, not Charlotte,
It's mummy to you!

From a plastic spoon,
To a knife and fork.
From teddy bears,
To a blackboard and chalk.

From pureed food,
To chunky meals.
It's hard to describe,
How this feels.

You're growing up...
So fast, so soon.
This year you'll have,
Number two on your balloon.

My dearest little Phoebe,
You won't be small for long.
And maybe one day,
I'll sing you this song.

But for now my pretty princess,
I won't look so glum.
As this is just the start,
And the best is yet to come.
