Watching someone you love slowly fade from your life
It was first I who walked away
Thinking God called me to that day
You stood there begging, pleading, crying
And I mourned you as if you were dying
I begged God to take your pain
"Place it on me, I'll live in the rain"
To know you're happy is a strong desire
But now that I ask you greet me with fire
This I know, I still love you I always will
A bridge, I desire to keep between us still
However, if your fire burns out of control
I require my heart, your flames to console
On the bridge you light by choice
Our bridge, a pyre to quiet my voice
