A poem about dreams and the adventures from my bed.
In My Sleep

The sky was pink, then blue, then black,
The shadows dark and fast.
The lights around the city glow
And silence reigns at last.

At half past twelve I flick the lights,
And sink onto the bed.
In quiet peace I close my eyes,
A feeling quite like mead.

And slowly sleep arrives and I
Drift off into a tale:
The deep unknown awaits mine mind,
We at long last set sail.

The air it smells of salt and brine
The wind it serves to chill.
The floor beneath me rolls and churns
While all of time stands still.

My bed it rises through the roof
And flies above the trees
My bed becomes a wooden ship,
And I the captain free.

I sailed among the stars tonight,
Along the curv-ed moon
And then there came the break of light -
Summons home, yet far too soon.
