A poem. Enjoy!
There is a secret that she carries
Deep inside her heart
No one knows that this young child
Travels in the dark
She seems so lucky,
So cherished, so loved
But what she really is
Is none of the above.

She carries in her heart of hearts
The burden so few bear
Of pretending that life is easy
When it’s truly just unfair
No one ever seems to see within
Into the tortured soul
No one really cares enough
And no one really knows

So somehow she is no one
Living in a dream
Hoping life is better
And people aren’t so mean
No one she is thought of
By family and friends
And deep inside this no one’s heart
Her cries now just begin

She still has years to tread alone
This broken hearted one,
People say she’s lucky
Only she knows that she’s not.
Outwardly she sheds no tear
About this inward fight
But deep inside is where she cries
All day and through the night.

She says she’s sorry every time
She says that it’s her fault
Because that’s what her accusers want
They want her broken heart.
They seem to suck the life right out
Of this solitary soldier.

No one is what she calls herself
No one knows her name
No one sees the pain inside
No one knows a thing

Nothing seems easy anymore
And life is just a game
A game that no one’s losing at
And she feels she is to blame.
