A villanelle which attempts to tell an updated version of the Prodigal Son.
I hate my brother ever so
And he´s coming home today.
If there´s a party, I won´t go.

My brother´s grades were always low.
I´m the one who got the A.
I hate my brother ever so.

A ball he could not even throw.
I could turn a double pay.
If there´s a party, I won´t go.

I bet my parents didn´t know
that he stole whiskey every day.
I hate my brother ever so.

Then he started sniffing snow.
Said it helped him ¨find his way¨.
If there´s a party, I won´t go.

And my parents are joyful even though
they´ve lots of rehab bills to pay.
I hate my brother ever so
If there´s a party, I won´t go.
