A poem I wrote about a girl I liked once
You are the sun
I, the moon.

Everyone sees you. They bask in your presence.
You smile at them, you bless them.

Everyone sees me. They do not know me.
I smile at them, they mock me.

Your touch warms everyone,
And all I want is to feel your fingertips brush my waist.

You laugh with them,
And all I want is to feel your huff of laughter against my collarbone.

You purse your lips,
And all I want is to feel them on mine.

You place your hand on a boy's arm,
And I am reminded that you would be disgusted with who I am, what I dream about.

You are the sun,
I, the moon.

And all I can do is wait,
Hope that one day we will collide.
