A short poem I wrote on a day I felt upset about everything..

Why am I lost, where do I begin

Where do I belong, in this colorful maze?

Sleepy is my heartbeat,

Drowsy are my dreams.

Drowning is my strength,

Where have I left my peace?

The roads all made of paper,

And the doors melted ice.

Drowned are the voices,

speaking in my dreams

Fear not for the flowers,

For fall is here, I tell myself

A fool that I am, I look for light in the darkest of the nights

I lose myself in dreams untethered,

In the fantasies of the pages,

In the love stories, and the heartbreaking darknesses,

In the epics, and the sagas

Only to stumble everyday,

To fall face-first on my reality.

Stare not, Oh the mirror of life, I cannot keep up,

My eyes dart down, tears stain my face,

The scars my face hides, of all the dreams shattered,

The words unspoken lump in my throat

My story unfinished, my dreams half-baked,

My broken sense of self, my days long and drawn,

My years crawling by, my eyes hiding shame,

My voice slowly drowning, drowning, drowning
