Short Poem. Hope? Maybe.

The final outcome not at all similar to that first beautiful dream.
Life silently crept up on me while in a hazy, self-induced half sleep...
Claiming it was all for fun, begging for the title of, "Still Friends."
Almost an award worthy performance,
ruined only by that infamous condescending smirk that never ends...
Promises of, "never again," and "It's all up to you now, make your move."
The anchor now lifted, sails have all been set aboard the most hated ship, "Deja Vu."...
Thought train violently derailed,
Chaos and confusion quickly arrive to clean up the mess...
A loophole is pulled from an invisible hat.
The pieces realign themselves onto the board, only this time for checkers instead of chess...
No longer a need for over-thought strategies or useless long cons.
Final notice recieved, late fees on the overdue title,"Cutting to The Chase,"...
Fake first move contemplation tactics begin.
A brief lapse in my tormentors flawless concentration
ends with a slap from newly discovered resolve to the face...
Stunned briefly, though long enough,
Hope quickly exits out from hiding and successfully moves in...
Faith, slightly faster, in position and already waiting,
Reunited despite all the doubt, victorious once again...
