An ode to dark eyes.

You made me fall.

Not in love,

Not from grace.

Rather I fell-flat on my

Hands, that bruised, calloused and burnt rushed to gather the broken pieces of your embrace.

A touch here, a breeze-by, a light grazing.

“My Eyes Adore You”.

Your eyes, creamy and dark, like the dark waters of thought I wade through each night as I swim in and out of consciousness and forced dreams.

Your skin, like strong, dark oak.

Your voice, thick and seductive as you sing stupid melodies.

But most of all, your mind, split between two worlds; two realities. Just as mine.

Listen as I speak, but do not take action.

This is an ode, to a dark-eyed man.
