Love's not a game, you have to work on it.

"Love isn't just some game"
That's what you said to me
"It's how you paint a picture
Of your heart's inner beauty."

And now look at where it's gone
It's such a dreadful waste
We've left or love to shame
Without a single trace of haste

When it was a new thing
A toy for us to share
We plotted out forever
Coursing every single care

But now you've gone and left it
You left it all alone
Patiently, we'll let it die
I guess it shouldn't have grown

Who knew that something magical
Something so sacred, so true
Could once become a fateful fall
For such young lovers as us two
