For Jonathan, my first true love
When you talk that talk,
you must walk that walk
without showing any pain
or desire to balk.

You look in my direction
but have no reaction.
I search your eyes, your face,
but I find no emotion.

You leave me without a good-bye,
leaving me only to wonder why.
Still, I musn't think 'bout it for too long
for fear of emitting a pitiful, lonely cry.

So before you brush me off in such a cruel way,
please offer something optimistic to say,
so we won't be in permanent hatred of each other,
so perhaps friendship can return someday.
