Trick or Treat, give me something good to eat. Beware, YOU just might be the treat.
All Hallows Eve
By
E C Wesch

October brings with it a chill,
on all Hallow's Eve.
No treating here, at my house,
it's a night meant to deceive.
Sinister beings arrive at night,
their secrets are hidden well.
Under stairs, in shadowed halls,
is a fright-time living hell.

There in the shadows, shining white,
two fangs gleam in the dark.
Controlled by urges left unchecked,
is its howling evil bark.
The werewolf prowls and in its search
its rumbling growl's most frightening.
Beware, you can't escape it,
its attack is fast as lightning.

A shadowy figure flies over-head
looking for an unwary stranger.
A bat like creature that changes form,
puts you in terrible danger.
His fiery eyes can control you,
you are helpless in his gaze.
Once bitten and drained of plasma,
leaves no peace found in your grave.

Creepy, crawly spiders,
spin webs to catch their food.
A black widow will ensnare you,
if she's in a biting mood.
The moonlight cast an eerie glow,
on a polished stone of white.
Your name and date in chiseled form,
glistens in its light.

The earth covers up many crimes,
that have dealt with love and passions.
But the sinister evil that lurks within,
are crimes that evil fashions.
As fingers claw up through the soil,
a zombie's head is seen.
No spark of life is to beheld,
in its eyes...an empty being.

A cackle's heard from over head,
as a witch flies on her broom.
Her darkened form soaring high
casting a shadow on the moon.
An eerie fog snakes through trees
hiding hidden danger.
Be careful where you wander,
Jason's looking for a stranger.

A strand of gauze, trails behind,
some mummy's tattered form.
Searching, ever searching,
for his missing tomb, since dawn.
Revenge on those that he should meet,
for disturbing his peaceful slumber.
With arms out stretched, he searches for,
his bed that's unencumbered

They slither through the blades of grass,
and wait for you to come.
To inject their poisonous venom,
so your body will succumb.
A monster we'll call Frankenstein,
was made of bits and pieces.
When lightning struck, he came alive,
now that's what history teaches.

An owl's hooting in the trees,
at a garden down below.
While a scarecrow dances in the breeze,
frightening all the crows.
A multitude of pumpkins,
all share an evil grin.
With glowing eyes that beckon,
hoping you'll drop in.

Freddy's sharpened finger nails,
will carve you up just right.
He'll light a candle in your skull,
and your eyes will light the night.
My house is full of secret,
chains rattle in the halls.
Moaning sounds are echoing,
vibrating off the walls.

Haunting's from the spirit world
are sheathed in linen white.
Blackened eyes, and emptiness,
transparent in evening's light.
Though Casper is a friendly ghost,
his counterparts are frightening.
Especially during haunting spells
enhanced by thunder and lightning.

A madness dwells within these walls,
bleached bones lie in the cellar.
Moth eaten fabric is what remains,
belonging to... that fella.
Be wary of the road you take,
and stay away from strangers.
The children living in the corn,
know of all the hidden dangers.

Down below a heated place,
is furnished with beds of fire.
The Devil will come and take your soul,
the moment you expire.
You'll not escape if you trespass,
where evil it does dwell.
So listen to my warnings,
or you just might burn in Hell.

So do not climb upon these steps,
asking for some candy.
You might not like what you will get,
a grave that's cold, and sandy.
I give you now this warning,
before it is to late.
Once you step inside these doors,
they'll close and seal your fate.
