I've been watching too many nature shows lately. Sorry. LOL
This is the love song of the bird sitting in my front yard.
Her prejudices aren't really mine.

Bird Love

I have yet no summer nest;
But I’ve just seen you dance.
Your lovely, speckled feathers
Have enticed me to your side.
I have listened to your song,
The one caroled to the sun.
And so, thus, spellbound,
I have journeyed to your side.

I know your song is bloated.
Your crest is only feathers.
I know you will never be
A good father to my young,
But your eye-catching rhythms
Have made me forget all that,
And constancy is not a fact
For birds and other males.

But take me now, this moment.
You can crow about it later.
For this red hot second
Just give me all I’m due.
So, shake me, make me, take me.
Spend a second of your time.

Then like all other males,
Take off in proud flight,
Rising into the cloud-spotted sky,
Leaving me only a shadow
After sweet, springtime lust.
