Why I don't send greetings. A sonnet where each line starts with the end word of the last
NEW YEAR WISH

My friend, I do not feel like wishing you,
You, who are so sensible and seasoned.
Seasoned men don’t care for a wish untrue,
Untrue is what so dislike the reasoned.

Reasoned men do never express a wish,
Wish that just cannot ever come about:
About catching in tsunami a fish.
Fish in troubled waters is rare no doubt!

Writ large is doubt in our own mind when we,
We wise ones of the educated kind,
Kind of offer wishes as in a spree,
Spree born of a rather unthinking mind.

Mind you that it is but for reason this,
This friend does not send happy New Year wish.

• Written in a manner that the first word of each line is the same as the last of the preceding line.
