If I knew how to get press credentials, perhaps an interview...
I was a BIG fan of Herman's Hermits as a young girl. I have lots of fond childhood memories associated with their music. Herman's Hermits group, or at least front man Peter Noone, is touring the US in 2008, and I think the show at Winstar Casino in Oklahoma is the start of what the country gets to experience in person this year. I'm presently quiet excited!

Maybe I could sell a review of the show to places in addition to the local Dallas Morning news! Hmmmm...

Winstar Casino is only about a two hour drive from my house in Dallas; through I haven't driven the route before. It's all freeway driving. I have a ticket waiting for me at “will call” at the theater box office, and the show starts at 8:00 pm this Saturday. Money for gas, a little money for gambling, a little planning in case I need to sleep, a change of clothes, (makeup kit), pack a sack lunch even--this doesn’t have to be an expensive venture. The ticket’s already paid for. Wow. This is enough to qualify an overnight vacation! I haven't been on vacation since the German shepherd came to live with us, in 2002 I think.

I've been in touch with a couple of people at the "Forum" for Herman's Hermits and Peter Noone, and they seem to be a friendly and safe community. How could Ha Herman’s Hermits’ web site draw creeps!

Here's a link to listen to A LOT of his songs. For a free preview, it's more than a snippet. It makes me want to hear more. I'm going to his concert in two days *Bigsmile*

Here are some other Herman's Hermits links:

There's also a fan club, and again, the "Forum" where I popped in and got invited to meet a buch of fans at the casino buffet for dinner. I haven't been out in so long, and I'm so anticipating a wonderful time. I'll post that url as soon as I remember what it was. *Blush*

I'm thinking ~ hard ~ about how I might gain access to Peter Noone for an interview. I have a recorder, a new Flip-cam, a pen and paper, a camera, and an excellent background on my subject. . . . and I've never done anything near to interviewing a celebrity. . . .but. . . .

I'm going to start a list of questions I would ask, maybe the old 3 x 5 card system 'eh? The girl who e-mailed me about people meeting for dinner before the concert (her user name for her mail is lavalosdientes--brushyourteeth in Spanish Cute, 'eh?), said that Peter often comes out after the show to sign autographs. I've found two vinyl albums with jackets intact--except for the wear of time. How cool is that! It makes me feel more young than old, and it makes me happy. Kick that funky depression in the arse!

I wrote and e-mail to someone in the entertainment department of the Dallas Morning Newsto see if they'd be interested in a freelancer's review of the show. Computer went to sleep because I didn't mail it immediately. I'm debating and procrastinating. Okay, I give myself five hours. Time for me to think, and it'll be there for whoever to read the first thin Thursday morning. I feel good about this.

I CAN do this! At the same time, I'm really one shy soul. Except that I'm bipolar, which means I'm capable of shedding my shy and becoming quite . . . well, the opposite. I saw on the news this evening that Brittany’s publically suffering bipolar. I knew it; recognized my younger self.

Two days to plan. Think I'll send a FAX to the casino to see if I can get an interview. If you, my dear reader, are the praying sort, put in a good word for me next time you check in, would you?

I believe in miracles. I'm going to have a good time whatever happens *Delight*

I just thought of a way to reach out for what I need. If someone in the Writing.com community knew how to get press credentials in order to get access for a personal interview like I'm wanting to do, they might be willing to tell me if I asked. My dear friends, I'm asking!

And actually a better way to listen to LOTS of music previews from one of the "Best of" lps is here at Amazon.eom:
