A somewhat different view on a mistaken concept.
Attitude do have different definitions for different people. Many people confuse it with arrogance. But according to me it is the representation of the influence of society and surroundings on a particular person.

Any human do have some inherent characterstics of his own which helps him to react to any particular situation brought upon him by his interactions with the society.During such dealings he develops some perceptions about the world and how it works.Such developments depend not only on the nature of the situation but also on the thinking of that particular person, which differs from others. He develops his own methods of tackling the problems and also how to prevent them. The latter plays a major role in moulding his nature and thus creating his attitude.

The definition of attitude is"A complex mental state involving beliefs and feelings and values and dispositions to act in certain ways".This statement in itself is a sum up of the above mentioned arguement. These beliefs and feelings are different due to various interpretations of the same events by various people and these differences occur due the before mentioned inherited characterstics.

This near about sums up the concept of attitude for me.
