Poem about an invasion of our world by amoeba-like beings. Iambic Heptameter (a rare one).
From universes dark and strange they came to walk the earth,
Amorphous beasts that shake the ground with overwhelming girth.

They slither past and leave behind a trail of sticky slime
That squirms as though itself alive, a putrid, evil grime.

They pull themselves along through use of artificial feet
And everything within their grasp they will most surely eat.

For earthly life as one can see is not their main concern.
It's likely that their true intent can never be discerned.

For what are we but worthless flies compared to things like them?
Are we to be their latest meal? Shall fate us thus condemn?
