a little poem about the inner child.
16 lines 98 words

I sit away from the world,
tunnels everywhere that I can see.
How long have I been here, I'm not sure.
I'm here all alone, just me.

I see a boy not too far away.
Does he see me? I can't tell.
He moves a little closer everyday.
He's been set free from my shell.

Does he see me?
I don't know.
Will he ever leave?
I don't think so.

Slowly I approach the boy,
he sees me and he cries.
He's playing with my old toys.
It's clear to me now, it's the child that never dies.
