A dog's tale

The moon true tonight
shiny bright oh so right
I can see the man there
calling to me very clear

Telling me of fleas an' lice
things about which I care
about sniffing around
smells which abound

I answer and explain
a dog’s language clear
a bow and a wow
howl growl yap snarl

About my master dear
the way he cares
soon he will share
his view of today

“I must sleep
shut your trap
stop your barking
You bloody mutt”

A shoe is given
thing to chew
better than
a kick in the butt.
