Awaiting answered prayer is worth it.
Answered Prayer

An answer to prayer is tantamount to God keeping his word. In the Biblical Hebrew mindset this means that the word offered includes action. God says the word and there is light to see all that is created. The fulfillment of God's promises lead persons to trust. Through the stories of persons like Joseph and Moses we know our need will be met. The precondition for knowing active power in the Word is readying oneself to actively respond in kind. We can be assured of an answer because of God's unconditional love. God has decided before creation began to work on our behalf. God created and it was good and that means we can look forward to something better as a result of our prayer life.

As a youth the one thing I loved to do more than anything was to eat. I would eat spaghetti, lasagna and anything else Mom would put together. After eating everything there was always some dessert. Before dinner my brothers and my friends would be in ecstasy playing games that we hoped would never end. Then we knew the familiar voice that broke the din of playful bliss. "Come and Get It". We knew who was making that food and we darted home as fast as our legs would carry us. I can think of no better way to conceptualize answered prayer. God has prepared a prayer banquet for hungry and thirsty souls. All we need do is come and get it.
