Cooking for my grandson
My Nana's Cooking
by
Alexandra Mason

Carrot soup is what I like
My Nana makes it best
I wanted some the other day
I asked her very nicely

Then let's get to it Nan's request
Into my kitchen come
She pulled the chair so I could reach
I climbed up so precisely

On went the water in the pan
Three carrots celery onion done
Chicken stock I peeked
My chopping changed to dicey

It smells delicious I told Nan
Then cooled blended yogurt some
A real good cook I have become
I kissed my Nan and thanked her kindly

I thought i'd take some home to Mum
But before to long it was in my tum
Nan's home cooking up my street
Em... next week I think I'll tell Nan I like gingerbread men
